I hope this message finds you well. June has been focused on completing projects. The Water Tank Project is now complete. Normal Level 1 Water Restrictions are back in effect. The truck fill is also back in service.
The water system requires ongoing maintenance. Along with recent tree root removal on three streets, five manhole repairs, there have been curb stop replacements this month as well.
Virtue Construction – Street Sweepers, did another excellent job cleaning the streets on June 10. Many compliments are offered regarding Burstall’s wide, well maintained, clean streets. Crack sealing is also scheduled this summer. In addition, you will see the SafeSidewalk crew here in July to address trip hazards in town which have been previously marked.
Fire extinguishers from many of our facilities had an annual safety check last week. This traditionally happens in June. Drop off is at the Town Shop. If you have a fire extinguisher you would like checked, keep in mind for 2027.
Be sure to save your recyclable drinking containers for the Burstall Swimming Pool! Drop off is now on the southwest side of the Town Shop in a brown bin labeled “Burstall Pool”.
Please join Town of Burstall in a Canada Day Celebration scheduled for Tuesday, June 30 at the Burstall Community Centre. Doors open at 4:30pm. Opening remarks at 4:45pm and complimentary burgers and hotdogs served at 5:00pm as well as locally made Canada Day cake. Thank you to Keyera for the use of the company BBQ. There will be a Mayor’s Giveaway for adults and children, and entertainment by the Kangaroo Rats from 6:00 – 10:00pm. Next is the highly anticipated fireworks display at the ball diamonds at approximately 10:15pm. Special thanks to all our sponsors that have contributed, making this event one that the Town of Burstall can be proud to celebrate Canada and our amazing community.
