Mayor's
Message

Keeping the  "All" in Burstall

April 2026

Greetings,

I hope this message finds you well. With the By Election complete, I would like to thank both Elizabeth McSweyn and Wayne May for putting their names forth. A warm welcome to the successful candidate, Wayne May. Wayne attended his first council meeting last week.
Council has recently completed a Trees on Boulevards Policy. To view the policy, please visit the Town Office. The current Nuisance Abatement Bylaw remains under review. Town Council receives several complaints regarding untidy yards and abandoned vehicles in the community. Keeping our yards maintained is a shared effort – thank you for contributing, and if you’re able, consider helping a neighbor who may need assistance.
The Town Council has finalized this year’s budget. Highlights include a 3.5% tax increase to keep pace with inflation, and an increase to the water rates, which will be communicated when approved by SK Municipal Board. The main focus of the budget is maintaining infrastructure - some items being tree root removal from sewer mains, water tank maintenance, crack sealing, fire hydrant repair, manhole repair and sidewalk repair. The Council’s plan aims to guide infrastructure maintenance over the next three to five years with a proactive, rather than reactive approach.
Thank you to residents who have paid dog and cat licences and phoned or emailed your water readings. Your response is appreciated by Council and Staff.
Please continue to check the Town website and Facebook page for important updates and other community reminders.

Sincerely,

Mayor Bodnarchuk
